Terms of use and legal notice

Version of 2026-10-11.

Publisher

Sceau and this site are published by Daniel Dan, a private individual in Belgium, on a private, non-commercial basis: it is a personal demonstration project (portfolio), with no payment or advertising. Contact (questions, reports, authorities), in English, French or Dutch: helloihaveaquestion@laposte.net. Postal address provided on justified request. Hosting: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Frankfurt region (Germany). Domain name: DuckDNS. Independent software, not endorsed by the Belgian State, the FPS BOSA or the European Union.

Licence

Sceau is free of charge. You may install and use it, for private or professional purposes, on as many computers as you like. The software remains the property of its publisher (all rights reserved): you may not sell, modify or redistribute it; to share it, give the address of this site, where an authentic version can always be downloaded. The free components it includes remain under their own licences (see the Download page).

No warranty

Sceau is free software developed privately and non-commercially by an individual, and provided « as is ». I do not guarantee that it works without error, that it is fit for a particular purpose, that every signature it produces is technically valid (a software defect remains possible), nor that the site remains available or that published pages stay online for the chosen period. The service may be interrupted or stopped at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any direct or indirect, material or moral damage resulting from the use of, or inability to use, Sceau or the site, including in case of gross negligence on my part. This exclusion does not apply in case of intentional misconduct, to damage resulting from harm to a person's life or physical integrity, or where the law prohibits it.

Your responsibility

You alone are responsible for the documents you sign, their content, the mentions and reservations you choose and what you publish. Sceau gives general explanations, not legal advice: if something important is at stake, consult a professional.

Publishing a seal page

Publishing a seal page is free and requires no account. You may only publish for a document you have signed yourself, under your own name. It is forbidden to publish in someone else's name, to impersonate another person or an institution (which may be a criminal offence), and to publish illegal, insulting, defamatory or hateful content. The name and mention shown are those you declare: they are not verified. I may remove without notice a page that has been reported or that clearly breaches these rules. Keep your withdrawal code (Sceau keeps it on your computer): without it, only the publisher can remove the page.

Reporting abuse

Every seal page has a « Report this page » link. You can also write to helloihaveaquestion@laposte.net giving the seal's identifier (12 characters printed on the seal; the key is not needed), the reason (impersonation of you, illegal content…), an explanation, your name and email address, and a declaration of good faith. You will receive an acknowledgement; the decision (removal or not) will be sent to you with its reasons. If your name was published without your consent, this report also counts as a request to erase your data.

Changes and applicable law

These terms may change; the version in force and its date are those on this page. They are governed by Belgian law; the courts of the publisher's place of residence have jurisdiction, unless a mandatory rule provides otherwise. For personal data, see the Privacy page.
